The function of the clutch is to disconnect the gearbox from the engine. The clutch enables us to smoothly engage the spinning engine shaft to a non-spinning transmission by controlling the slippage between them. Most clutch kits are three piece kits that consist of the clutch plate, clutch disc and clutch release bearing. However, many newer vehicles now use a hydraulic slave cylinder, also known as a concentric slave cylinder, which is supplied separately.
